Wilmington Christian School exists as a branch of the ministry of the congregation of Wilmington First Assembly.

WCS provides a proper education through the combined effort of the church, the parent, student and teacher. The home is the primary center of student learning and living.  We believe that the highest and most enduring benefits are achieved when parent, child, and the school are devoted to the same ideals of Christian faith and live and work together as partners to accomplish them.

WCS provides the resources necessary for a good education, but it is the responsibility of the parent and student to use those resources as the school recommends, and it is the responsibility of the church to establish the spiritual standards for the school. WCS has a simple approach to education that may be summed up in five words; dedication, responsibility, faith and discipline.

Our teachers and staff are DEDICATED to the cause of Christ Jesus.  It is our RESPONSIBILITY to provide a Christ-centered education.  Our FAITH causes our understanding that God is soveriegn.  Finally, DISCIPLINE is an indispensable part of the Christian school environment. It provides the atmosphere for the application of knowledge - clearing the mind for critical thinking and reasoning. Discipline is the incubator in which the intellect develops. Therefore, WCS maintains a moral, spiritual, and intellectually disciplined staff, and an environment that encourages discipline in students from their dress, to behavior, to study. It does this while preserving an atmosphere of respect for each individual that is not rigid and that offers each student the freedom to develop his or her unique strengths and talents before God.
